You Live The Part You Play

Respect. I cannot emphasize this enough. If you want it, you play the part that deserves it.

A word to the wise, any boy (or group of boys) that texts you after ten-thirty at night, is looking for entertainment. Think about it, it's late and they're either lonely or they're playing for bets with their friends. And who wants to be a textual game when you lose for sure?

Anyway, last night. It was nearly one am, in the twelve-fifty area. I can't sleep so I'm laying in bed watching Sherlock Holmes for the first time and my phone buzzes. Well, it rings and I roll over to look at it. (My text message sound is a doorbell. It's lame, I know. You really don't have to tell me.) A boy I've had before and all he says is " :D ". Here's the conversation (I'll dissect later):

:D
"Well hi. What are you so excited about?"
Talking to you. Duh.
"Oh you. Always the clever one. What are you up to at nearly one in the morning?"
Ummmm. Being bored. Lol I'm hanging out with ... and .... Nothing sketchy though.
"Hey guys. Haha nothing sketchy. You boys are always up to something sketchy."
Good point.

I had nothing to say to that, so I didn't text back. My thoughts being: if he had something he wanted to say, he would text back and say it. Which I was right about. Anyway, the signs.

1. It's one in the morning. If he wanted to talk to me, he would have done it earlier. Texting me this late simply says that him and his friends are bored and looking for a late night playmate.
2. He precisely said that he was bored and with his friends (who I've also had small flings with). If he said who he's with up front and without you asking him, then they also know that he's texting you and they're in on anything either of you say. So it's a very unclassy way to talk to all of them, basically.
3. He didn't text me back after I said nothing back to him. This loosely translates to: well she won't play, on to the next one!

Don't believe me? That's okay. Just a little bit of advice from a girl with a little bit of experience.
