Famous Imperfections

Okay, so I absolutely was not satisfied with how little I was able to talk about your flaws. So I'm making a list of mine and celebrity flaws. Get ready for earth-shattering insecurities blown wide open.

Celebrity:
1. The Mona Lisa
Because everybody thinks she has manly features. You're a girl and everyone says you look like a boy? That can't be good for a person's self esteem.
2. Kelly Clarkson
Check out the picture in the last post.
3. Kim Kardashian
The girl's fierce even though she has cellulite. And she flaunts it! That's a girl who isn't afraid to be who she really is. Go you, Kim.

4. Cameron Diaz
This girl's out of puberty and she's still dealing with acne. Sorry, ladies, acne never really goes away. But does that stop this dynamite chickita from being successful? Never.
5. Beyonce Knowles
Check out this picture. They tighten and trim and make her plastic. Not even the woman with the most incredible character and musical talent is perfect.

Me:
1. The scar on my face.
2. I have cellulite.
3. I'm insecure about my weight.
4. My bangs never work right.
5. I'm scared to leave the house without makeup.
6. I have a birthmark in the shape of a hoof on my stomach that matches one on my ankle.
7. I have this huge callus on my right ring finger from writing. My mother always said it would go away, it never did.
8. I have scars from pimples all over my face.
9. My hairline is weird.
10. I have really oily skin.

Had enough yet? I could go on and on. Yeah, I'm insecure and imperfect and flawed. But you know what? I don't care. (Okay, I care a lot about the weight thing.) Would I trade myself in for one of the celebrities above? Never. Because I like who I am. Sure, sometimes I fill out a dress a little too much and sometimes my ankles wobble when I wear heels and sometimes I get a wicked case of the munchies and eat too much. But I'm me for a reason and I like it that way. I hate my weight? Well good thing I run and do pilates and yoga and I work on it.

You hate something about yourself? Make the change, either mentally or physically. No one wants to stand around and listen to you complain about it. Change doesn't come all at once, it comes day by day. That means: if you screw up one day, that's fine. You've got another one coming tomorrow. Time won't stop for you, so don't expect it to. Embrace everything about yourself.
