Of The Few Things I Believe Wholeheartedly In...

The Dalai Lama says that, in order to be happy, one must decrease our expectations. This way, our expectations will always be met and we will always remain in a constant and consistent state of happiness. This makes sense and I agree with it. But let's think for a moment how hard this is to do. It seems quite hopeless. But it's meant to be a work in progress. Begin by saying to yourself "I refuse to see the bad in things" when you judge someone or "I don't mind this" when you're doing something you hate. It's not meant to be terribly easy and you will have to work on it, but I believe that the Dalai Lama knows what he's talking about.

  1. Giving yourself license to stop negative thoughts in any form is empowering. I love that when I start to think of someone in a negative way or feel that their actions are supposed to be particularly hurtful to me, I remember that if I can change the way I think....I WILL change the way I act. Whether consciously or not. LOVE your posts. You are so mature and I love that you have so many thought provoking, deep topics! Much loves!
